Safety Certificates, COI, COM

Chapmans Auto Repairs in Cooroy is an Approved Inspection Station (AIS)

We can issue Safety Certificates (formerly Roadworthy Certificates RWC) for vehicles that pass vehicle inspections. This inspection covers the basic vehicle safety standards for many components including:

  • Tyres
  • Brakes
  • Suspension
  • Steering
  • Body damage or Rust
  • Lights
  • Windscreen

A safety certificate inspection is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection on the quality, or life expectancy of a vehicle. Talk to us today about the different types of inspections available at Chapmans Auto Repairs and which one will best suit your needs.

Certificate of Inspection - COI

Chapmans Auto Repairs are approved to inspect and issue Certificate of Inspection (COI) for vehicles (such as heavy vehicles, licensed tow trucks, buses, taxis, limousines and booked hire vehicles) registered in Queensland which may need to have a periodic or programmed inspection to check minimum vehicle safety standards. A COI is issued when the vehicle passes the inspection.

Certification of vehicle modifications - COM

Complex modifications to a vehicle can seriously affect the safety of a vehicle if not performed properly. These modifications are required to be inspected and certified by an approved person.
At Chapmans Auto Repairs in Cooroy we are equipped with the latest technology to inspect, assess and certify vehicle modifications.
Vehicle owners who have made modifications to their vehicle may need to have them inspected and certified to ensure the modifications have been performed in accordance with the Queensland Road Vehicle Modification Handbook.
